The place where violence ends and healing begins!
At Lama Piyasa, we believe in providing holistic rehabilitation for children who have faced all forms of violence. Our team of dedicated professionals, including psychologists, counsellors, social workers, and medical experts, work together to ensure that these children receive the physical, emotional, and psychological support they need to heal and thrive.
Lama Piyasa is a project initiated by the Child Protection Committee of the SL College of Paediatricians in 2011. Its main objectives include providing care for children who have experienced violence and actively working on creating awareness and prevention programs.
To achieve these goals, Lama Piyasa conducts workshops and seminars in schools and communities, aiming to educate parents, caregivers, and teachers about recognizing signs of violence and effective intervention methods. By raising awareness, the project strives to foster a safer environment for children and reduce the occurrence of violence.
Research plays a crucial role in Lama Piyasa’s work. The project collaborates with various institutions and experts to conduct research on the prevalence and impact of violence on children. The insights gained from this research are utilized to inform the project’s advocacy efforts, with the ultimate goal of influencing policies and laws that protect children’s rights and prevent violence from occurring in the first place.
